Animals Available for Adoption
In order to get our dogs seen by the most people possible, we have our animals listed on two different national adoption sites.

Mountain Home Pets, Inc. is the result of our many years of rescue work in both Louisiana and Arkansas. We are now a registered non-profit corporation -- we have done this to take our operation to the next level. We feel this change and growth will allow us to do more and more to help and support the community.

Our goal is to be the primary resource for rescued, lost and found pets in the area. We have several new sections of our site being constructed at the moment. Please come back often for updates and more information on what we are doing and what you can do to help.

Please feel free to contact us for anything - drop us an e-mail to rescue@mhpets.com.

If you'd like to help our cause, you can mail or drop off a donation at the address below:

A bit more about us: We understand that some people are wary of sending donations to a previously unknown entity. To help alleviate that, we want to share some information about what we've been doing since the EDNAH situation started on 10/21/05. Starting 10/22/05 through the first week of December, one of our principals, Sandi, was on site helping with and dealing with the dogs. She has 17+ years experience with animals including several similar cases such as puppy mills and dog fighting breeders. She has been instrumental in identifying, cataloging and handling the dogs.

Bill, her husband, received the initial contact with Judy in Topeka. Judy informed him about the existing examination of Tammy Hanson's operations by Kristine Crawford who is known nationally for her work with Pit Bulls and search and rescue operations. Kristine was already in contact with Desiree Bender of Where Angels Run (Pit Rescue) and the Humane Society of the United States. Kristine convinced the HSUS they needed to be here to help.

Bill and Sandi basically closed their pet supply store in Mountain Home to take care of the needs of these dogs. They have also rescued and placed dozens dogs on their own over the past year. Dogs they've rescued are now in homes not only around here but in St. Louis, Tulsa, Virginia and even Alaska.

We are dedicated first and foremost to helping dogs in need -- something that Sandi has been doing for more than 15 years already. We can only hope that whatever we can collect and contribute will help keep the volunteers from having to cut corners to take care of the animals. So for this reason, we've formed a new corporation, Mountain Home Pets, Inc. By all means if you have ANY questions, please contact us -- we'll be more than happy to talk to you about what we do.

Mountain Home Pets, Inc. is a registered non-profit organization incorporated in Arknasas. All donations are tax-deductible. The extent of which will change once we receive our IRS 501(c)(3) determination. All donations will be deductible as far back as 18 months prior to our filing date.
